Di Lorriman is both an artist and an illustrator.
She exhibits as a Fellow of the Nottingham Society of Artists, with the Leicester Sketch Club and at other exhibitions in the Midlands. Di particularly enjoys drawing the clientele in cafes or sketching musicians jamming at the local music night. She watches and records the way people move and interact with each other and uses this observation to inform figurative paintings and cartoons.
Di's often humorous illustrations appear in a variety of publications for both children and adults. Where possible she makes her illustrations inclusive, incorporating children with disability in a natural way. She was previously on the steering panel of Scope's Children in the Picture campaign which promoted this Inclusiveness in children's books.
Di is a qualified teacher and runs watercolour courses in the Midlands. She also runs residential holidays in watercolour and in cartooning at Knuston Hall Adult Residential College in Northamptonshire. Please visit the Knuston Hall Website for details.
